Jay's Greatest Hits is the result of a poll conducted in JayNews, a newsletter he used to send out. He asked his three fans to vote for their favorite songs. He assembled the results into this extensive collection, which is a great introduction to the wide variety of material he wrote. Also included are three rarities: an "unplugged" version (from the CD compilation Artifacts) of his most popular tune, "Liar in the Mirror," a performance of "Going Going Gone" with his short-lived band The Abstractions (David Gowler and Scott Haworth) and The Dots' version of "Madonnawannabe" featuring Gowler and Haworth plus Craig Kurtz on bass and backing vocals.
